After many years of using our practice management software we have decided to change to a new AI system called Carestack that has been in use in the US for several years.
This system also links in with our new phone system so that it will automatically identify you from your phone number when calling the practice to improve security and prevent errors of wrong patients being booked in. Notes from your call will be logged in your patient notes.
You will be able to log on to a patient portal to see all your upcoming appointments, estimates, aftercare leaflets and letters and to update your medical history and sign consents and estimates before you arrive at the practice.
You will still receive email reminders for appointments but also text message reminders will resume.
Please bear with us whilst we adapt to the system which will go live on Monday 6th October. From Thursday 2nd October you will not receive reminders or emails and will not be able to book online until we go live with the new system on Monday.
All of your previous data will be transferred onto this new system including your past medical history, but we would ask that you complete the medical history on the new software for appointments from Monday 6th October.
This is available on the portal and links will be sent via email or you can update on tablets in the practice. This medical history form is much easier as you can mark no for all fields and then go in and untick the relevant boxes if you need to add only a few conditions. When updating annually you can just click no changes if no updates are necessary.
You will also be able to check in on a Kiosk tablet at reception if the reception staff are busy and access your estimates and consent forms to sign on this tablet if you have not managed to do from home.
I am sure, as with any of these changes, there may be a few hiccups, but we will endeavour to make the transition as smooth as possible.
